PRADEEPA JAYACHANDRAN, PH.D.

 

 

Dr. Pradeepa Jayachandran works as an Intellectual Property Legal Intern at FALATI.  She assists attorneys and clients in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, focusing primarily on innovations in the biomedical and healthcare related industries.  

 

She is an accomplished multi-disciplinary-trained Scientist.  After completing her bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, she was awarded a fellowship at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology, the top research institution in India.  Thereafter, she moved to the U.S. and joined the Biological Sciences department of University of Maryland and completed her Ph.D. degree under the tutelage of Dr. Rachel Brewster.  She then moved from Maryland to NYC and trained in the laboratory of Dr. Sabine Ehrt's at Weill Cornell Medical College, later also completing a second Postdoctoral Fellowship in the laboratory of a National of Academy Sciences Member, Dr. Marlene Belfort, at University of Albany. 

 

Due to her extensive laboratory experience at four premier institutions and varying research topics, she is regarded as being highly versed in theoretical and especially practical aspects of Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Developmental Biology.  She has published several peer reviewed research journals and presented her work at top international conferences.

 

At FALATI, Pradeepa works closely with attorneys on matters including, invention disclosure evaluations, patentability determinations, drafting patent applications and responding to Office Actions.
