KATHLEEN McGEE, B.S., ESQ.
Kate’s law practice at FALATI involves client representation and counseling on Intellectual Property Law and Advertising and Marketing Law matters.
Kate graduated with a B.S. from Syracuse University in 2012, and went on to obtain her J.D. from Albany Law School; she graduated with high honors (cum laude) from both institutions.
Kate grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which is where she discovered her passion for the law during her first legal internship with the fast-paced Defender Association of Philadelphia. Throughout her three years at Albany Law, Kate focused her legal studies to the area of Intellectual Property Law and Entrepreneurship Law. Having been offered a position to join the Corporate office of General Electric, Kate worked at GE Corporate and served as a Legal Intern for GE’s Intellectual Property law and Business Transactions group — GE Ventures. Because of her work with Intellectual Property law attorneys in-house at GE, Kate is knowledgeable on building extensive trademark and patent portfolios.
At FALATI, Kate assists clients in the drafting, filing and prosecution of patent and trademark applications; she also counsels clients on copyright issues that arise especially for internet-driven businesses. Kate takes instruction from members of the firm occasionally and draws from her background working in the IP department of a Fortune 100 company to assist clients as an independent attorney. Given her background, Kate is also available to assist clients on IP-related business matters, including strategies for monetizing patent portfolios.
