Robert Trepp has over two decades of experience practicing Intellectual Property Law, in particular Patent Law, in the technical fields of electrical systems, circuits, devices, semiconductors and materials.  He also has significant experience in the associated processes and process apparatus applicable to the semiconductor industry. 


Robert has prepared, filed and prosecuted patent applications in the U.S. and worked with inventors and management to obtain optimum Intellectual property protection.  He has managed outside counsel to timely prepare, file and prosecute patent applications to obtain patents with broad scope valuable in licensing, especially in the semiconductor industry.  As well as reviewing numerous software licensing agreements for clients, Robert’s experience includes counseling major corporations on Government Rights to Intellectual Property developed under U.S. Government Contracts and on compliance with government contract invention reporting. 


Prior to joining FALATI, Robert was a Senior Attorney in the Law Department at IBM.  He began his career as an Engineer, and later IP Attorney, at Westinghouse Electric Corp. and also worked as an IP Attorney at Allied Signal Corporation (now Honeywell International Inc.).  


Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Science Engineering from the University of Michigan and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from The George Washington University Law School.  He is admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland and a registered Patent Attorney with the USPTO.
